Still, those few little and special things are wonderful, aren't they?? Love your comments.

Ah, I have a shop like that in our town, Mers-les-Bains, called "Le Troc'". It is run by Muriel who knows me all too well by now and lets me take home stuff and pay her later. I also bring stuff back for her to sell again because I decide to change my decor. I had an entire set of Longwy faïence in the Art Deco pattern called "Les Merises" but sadly had to give it up because it was not microwave safe and I couldn't trust my husband to not put it in the microwave (had a plate crack in the microwave). There was even a cake stand!

I have some plates and platters in the very pattern of the soup tureen in the middle of your photo. I think I could have gone down the "brocanteuse" path, but fortunately we ended up living in a relatively small house. Now we also have an old-stone weekend house, and I've picked up a few things, but have decided I don't want to accumulate a lot more at this stage of the game.

I so enjoyed this Susan. I’ve followed you since you were a kid—not creepily but culinarily. I have your first couple of books, I think others. Will go look in mt French section.

I’m glad you’re friends with David, makes PURRFECT sense. You two antiques shopping together! 😻🙀😻😹
